My Friends Made Some Cute Fall Wreaths

A couple of my friends made some really cute wreaths today.  I thought I would share them with you.  I don’t know the details of how they made them….sorry.  I stole these pics from their facebook page.  Smile

Pumpkins Gone Wild Is At It Again

Last fall I posted about my leopard tissue paper and Mod Podge pumpkins.  They were a hit.  Well Pinterest has made them popular again.  I thought some of my readers that weren’t around last fall might like them too so I am reposting a photo of them and a link to my original post (here).

Old Tray With a Touch of Fall

I added some faux acorns and a brown sunflower that I had from last year to my rustic tray for a bit of fall.  I love the bottles, books and lamps because they allow for me to add anything to them and it all seems to flow.  I love fall more than any other season.  I like decorating for fall better than I do Christmas so my blog will probably have several fall posts coming!

I recently moved this little table into my family room.  I will be painting it when I decide what I want to do with it.

I like my glittered acorns and I really like the color of the sunflower.  I love me some brown.

Now if the pumpkin patches would hurry and open up I could do more fall decorating.

A Touch Of Sun @ I Heart Faces

A touch of sunlight through the window enhances this cute photo I took of my friend’s grandson.  It seemed perfect to enter in this week’s photo contest at I Heart Faces for the Touch of Sun challenge.

Izzy Pic

Izzy was groomed yesterday and she looked cute playing in the flower beds so I thought I would share an Izzy pic.

I hope you are having a great weekend.  I am loving that it is no longer 100 degrees.  Smile

Pumpkin Clock

Our annual decorate a pumpkin for work is approaching and this year we are raffling our pumpkins and donating the proceeds to A Race for the Cure.  I thought a functional pumpkin with a working clock in it would be fun.  I got it all to work, but I can’t help but look at my pumpkin and images of those crazy hats that were worn in England at the royal wedding pop into my head.

It started out simple and plain.  A white faux pumpkin.

I used a clock template that I found at Buzzle.com to plan my working clock.  I bought the parts at a craft store.

The hands were originally gold and I painted them with oil rubbed bronze spray paint.

My husband and I used a drill to make the holes for the different hours and to insert the clock mechanism.  I had to cut a hole in the bottom so I could reach inside and be able to place a light in it.

I glazed the pumpkin and then hot glued the greenery and feathers to the top to create my English hat the decorative part.

When it is darker you can see the light better.  It flickers which I couldn’t recreate in a photo.

So what do you think?  Is it a pumpkin you would love to win at our office raffle or if you won it would you ship it to England where it might be appreciated?

It’s Beginning to Feel a Lot like Fall. Time To Start the Front Porch Decorating.

Tomorrow is calling for a high of 59 degrees.  A cold front and some much needed rain are coming.  I am still waiting for pumpkins to go on sale,  but I did start my front porch decorating.

I have this clay oval planter thing (if you know it’s correct name would you please share it with me?).  It was my mom’s.  She use to keep it next to her pot bellied stove with fire wood in it.  She loved plants, so I know she would like that I used it for a planter.

I planted some cabbages and added some faux pumpkins while I am waiting for the real ones to become available.

I have this metal pumpkin that I added, but I am undecided if I should keep it in there or if less is better.  What do you think?
