I bought some inexpensive off white fabric and cut it into 8 squares with pinking shears to keep the fabric from fraying and me from sewing. I stamped the napkin with a bird stamp because that’s my theme. I used some wired stems to wrap pieces of the greenery I used in the birdcage onto the napkin.
Now to sew some pillows. Santa can I please have just a few more hours in the day?

Metamorphosis Monday @ Between Naps on the Porch
Lately I have felt so overwhelmed and behind. You have probably noticed I haven’t been posting as much as I normally do. One thing that has kept me busy is the gathering of supplies for my Christmas Tea Table Contest coming up. 3 of us from my office are participating at a coworker’s church. We decorate tables then the next day have brunch and listen to a speaker. It is a great experience, but it seems to be so much work getting everything ready for a table of 8.
The church rents round tables and folding chairs. I bought burlap sacks to cover my chairs and the more I thought about it the more guilty I felt. I imagined my friends sitting at my table in their nice dress up clothes and leaving looking like they had been sitting with a shaggy dog because of my burlap covers. So I went to plan B.
I used a roll of brown paper to make covers for the tops of the folding chairs. I will be making some pillows to sit in the chair and it will be part of the take home gift. They will be burlap, however, I will let everyone know to put the pillow on the floor before they sit down.
My theme is “Birds of a Feather Flock Together”.
I made 4 chair covers with my bird stencil from Hobby Lobby.
And 4 with my theme. If you think the theme is too much let me know. It can be removed easily.
I am going to alternate every other chair.
Here is my birdcage that is part of the centerpiece. I added Christmas greenery, battery lights and a cardinal.
I will also be using some grapevine cone trees.
I need to go work on my pillows and napkins. I will show you those when I am finished.

Weekend Wrap Up @ Tatertots and Jello
You might remember that we decorated pumpkins at my work for Halloween. Our patients loved it so one of our dental assistants wanted to decorate mini trees for Christmas.
I found a $4 mini pine tree at Michaels.
I bought one sparkly greenery bush and 2 small floral stems that looked like leather leaves.
I cut the bush and stems into sections and stuck them in the mini tree. I cut the tree from it’s base and stuck it into some styrofoam inside my container to make it taller.
I already had the container and foam. I think the greenery and the tree cost me abut $10 total.
One more thing checked off my list.
I will share all of my coworkers trees with you soon.

Here is another addition to my bathroom. I might be doing something to my shower curtain, if not, this is it.
I am keeping with my theme of the Brush Your Teeth sign and the toothbrush photo along with the rustic look. I painted a wooden craft frame to look like my sign and wall hanger. I added “Floss” on it using a stencil and stuck in a photo of my son flossing his teeth.
He should have some good dental hygiene with all of these reminders.

Thanks for helping me pick a photo for my class. I went with number 2. Did you know when you order an 8x10 or try to print one yourself it crops the heck out of your photo? It totally changed the composition. I was able to allow for it with photo number 2 but not with photo number 1. If you are taking pics then make them a little bigger to allow room for cropping. Does anyone now any tricks other than this?

I finally got my numbered wall hanger made. I had this project in mind since I have been redoing some of my bathroom decor. I made it similar to the Brush Your Teeth Sign that you can see here.
I already had a board and I glued a piece of trim to the top of it.
Then I made some numbered stencils with my Cricut and bought some metal wall hooks at Walmart.
After I painted my board, I stenciled my numbers on and screwed in the hooks.
A candle jar on one of the hooks seemed to be a great addition. I just wrapped some dark wire around the top of the jar and dropped in a tea light candle.
I also made a frame using the same painting technique. I will show you that soon.
I am really behind this week. It has not been a normal week at all. My son is in the 7th grade and a fellow 12 yr old classmate took his own life on Monday. Thursday night we had flooding and snow on Friday morning. I live in Texas and this was the view yesterday morning from my front door.
The leaves are still on the trees and it caused many of them to break. Some older trees broke right down the middle. In my part of Texas trees are hard to come by so it was very sad.

Do you love neutrals and Christmas? If you do then you should head over to Tammy’s blog, Tattered and Timeless, to see all of the wonderful Christmas goodies she has been making for her booth. I have enjoyed her blog for awhile and asked her if I could show some of her things off.
She just posted about her Christmas stockings tonight. They are so cute.
She also makes spindle Christmas trees.
You can spot them throughout her booth. She said they sold like hotcakes last year.
She had a great idea for tree garland and when she spotted the PB Catalog she saw they had the same idea.
I just love everything in this photo. I want to sit in that rocker and hang out.
