The Christmas Tree That Didn’t Last

Yesterday morning I took my real tree down.  Yep I did.  It was stinky for a long time.  We think it was the water so we quit watering it.  It was drying out anyway.  It seemed to continue to dry out super fast and as is it dried it drooped.  It was time for it to go away.  As I pulled off the ornaments the needles and branches flew off the tree like rockets.  My husband was at work so I drug it outside by myself.  I cleaned up the needle mess and put up a tiny little tree in it’s place.  I will definitely use my faux tree with the pre-lit white lights next year and the year after that and the year after that……….

  1. This is something that would happen to me if I ever had a real tree.

  5. Been there! I'm so sorry you had to do that. We had the same issue two years ago. We think that they did not give us a fresh cut. We got busy looking at wreaths and talking with friends and the next thing we knew the tree was on my van. Tree never took on enough water. Fast forward to this year...I tip the guys for a nice straight cut, pick a super fresh tree that smells great and take her home. The first day a tree usually takes on almost a half gallon of water typically. This one takes on none. We take it out of the stand ourselves, cut it again, then fill with hot water. It takes on some water and we decorate. She is barely going to make it through Christmas! The needles are falling off like crazy and a few are starting to turn and drop ornaments. lol I love a fresh tree but don't need the science project every holiday! lol Merry Christmas to you and yours!
